Brent Nablus

Twinning ASSOCIATION

What is Twinning?

A twinning agreement aims to promote cultural, social, economic, and educational exchanges. It is a partnership based on mutual respect, shared experiences, and opportunities for collaboration across various sectors.

Brent Council, through the elected councillors, have already resoundingly passed a proposal in support of twinning at the Full Council meeting on 18th November 2024, and the leadership of Nablus has written to the Brent Council leadership also supporting twinning. The Council is due to assess the proposal and report back at an upcoming Council meeting. Therefore, we, Brent residents, workers and students call on Brent Council to:

  • establish an official twinning relationship by June 2025 between the Borough of Brent and the Palestinian town of Nablus.

  • facilitate actions and activities to foster strong long-term relationships with Nablus.

  • support and publicise twinning events and activities in solidarity with Nablus, and Palestine more widely
